British painter Chris Ofili was born in Manchester in 1968. He became a successful artist at a young age, and was the first Black artist to win the Turner Prize, aged 30. Much of ofili's work celebrates the diversity of Black identities and cultures. He is also known for his wacky choice of materials, including elephant dung!
