Mrinalini Mukherjee was an incredible Indian artist known for her groundbreaking work in sculpture. Her work is neither representational nor abstract. It is somewhere in-between. You will see different things in her artworks. Her sculptures often challenged conventional notions of beauty and artfulness, inviting us to really think about the interconnectedness of the human body and nature. Many of her woven sculptures were also inspired by Hindu and tribal gods and goddesses. This allowed her to delve into the rich cultural and mythological tapestry of India. By incorporating deities into her work, she not only paid homage to her cultural heritage but also brought a sense of divine energy to her sculptures.
